The M&A Management team is looking for a Research Analyst to join the team.The Research Analyst position is a rewarding experience – one that provides an excellent foundation for individuals interested in developing investment banking and M&A product knowledge, understanding strategic decision-making and processes, and driving new initiatives. The Research Analyst will play an important role in the group while building a deep understanding of the Goldman Sachs M&A business. Responsibilities The Research Analyst will be a part of the M&A Management Group, a small team that is responsible for strategic analysis, reporting and other functions relating to the management of the M&A business within Investment Banking. While the individual will be part of this small team, there will be opportunities to interact with bankers across all levels of seniority. The role involves:Opportunities to dig in and get “into the weeds” to understand and answer abstract questions relating to M&ADevelopment of thought pieces relating to M&A activity, trends and key driversAd hoc projects for senior M&A leadership, both for internal and external purposesInvolvement in the development and implementation of M&A’s most critical strategic initiativesAnalysis of GS’s M&A business, including financial performance relative to competitors and market share across industry sector and regionInteractions with individuals in various parts of the firm, including the Executive Office, Investment Banking Leadership, Investment Banking Marketing, Investor Relations, etc.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOROne to three years of related experience preferredExcellent academic credentialsPersonal integrity, initiative and leadership qualitiesDrive, enthusiasm, creativity and excellent interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and technical abilitiesStrong judgment and problem-solving skillsAbility to handle multiple assignments and prioritize as necessaryStrong verbal and written communications skills Salary RangeThe expected base salary for this New York, NY, United States-based position is $85000-$120000.
