Role Overview

Kritik is seeking a motivated and dynamic Account Executive to join their sales team, supporting their education technology business. This is a high-ownership opportunity for someone who wants to contribute to a growing startup, take full ownership of their work, and engage confidently with professors and universities. The Account Executive will be responsible for generating new business through prospecting, cold calling, in-person field sales, and nurturing client relationships.

Major Responsibilities

• Research university course catalogs and departmental websites to identify large-enrollment courses, instructors, and teaching schedules.
\n
• Build and maintain detailed campus intelligence, including professor names, course sizes, coordinators, and program structures, in the CRM.
\n
• Conduct outbound outreach to professors via cold emails, phone calls, and LinkedIn to introduce Kritik and secure meetings.
\n
• Run in-person and virtual product demos tailored to large-course teaching and grading workflows.
\n
• Travel frequently within assigned PODs to visit campuses and conduct in-person prospecting.
\n
• While on campus, actively engage with bookstore managers, students, faculty, course coordinators, program directors, and administrative staff to gather insights and referrals.
\n
• Attend teaching and learning conferences, faculty development events, and academic workshops to build pipeline.
\n
• Organize and host info sessions and Lunch & Learn events in collaboration with the Revenue Marketing Manager.
\n
• Manage post-sale onboarding for new faculty customers, ensuring successful setup and early adoption.
\n
• Own customer relationships for up to one year (approximately three semesters), driving renewals, expansion, and upsell opportunities.
\n
• Track daily activity, pipeline progression, and outcomes in the CRM and report against defined KPIs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, a personable presence, and the confidence to speak with professors and academic stakeholders throughout the day.
\n
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple opportunities, maintain consistent follow-up, and take ownership of results.
\n
• Experience in education, sales, edtech, postsecondary education, or a related environment is preferred but not mandatory.
\n
• Startup experience and an ownership-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset are highly valued; we're looking for candidates who demonstrate hustle and genuine motivation to contribute to company growth.
\n
• Candidates from nontraditional sales backgrounds will be considered if they bring relevant university experience, self-directed goals, and demonstrated drive.
\n
• Strong academic vocabulary and the ability to communicate clearly and intelligently with university audiences.
\n
• Education or edtech experience is ideal, though strong startup experience or university-facing experience is also relevant.
\n
• Comfort using AI tools is expected, and the process may assess candidates' comfort and judgment in using AI.
\n
• Travel 30%: must have a valid passport and ability to travel including to Canada.
